Deck, Shed and Pool Demolition in O'Fallon, IL
A large share of O'Fallon was built out in subdivisions from the 1980s on, and the decks, sheds and above-ground pools that came with them are reaching the end of their life. Closer to the old downtown there are tired garages too. Jon takes them down, hauls the debris and grades the ground back.

Demolition in O'Fallon
A railroad town that kept growing
O'Fallon began in 1854, when its first city lots were sold at public auction, and a Baltimore and Ohio depot downtown helped put it on the map. It became a village in 1874 and a city in 1905. Coal mining was part of its economy for more than a hundred years.
Growth picked up in the 1980s and again after Interstate 64 was expanded in the 1990s. The census counted 21,910 people in 2000 and 32,289 in 2020. That spread of ages shapes the work: older garages near downtown, and twenty- or thirty-year-old decks across the subdivisions.
The deck that has given up
A wood deck built when the house was new tends to fail from the bottom. Posts rot at the ground, ledger boards pull at the house and the boards turn soft. Once the framing is going, new boards on top only hide it.
Jon pulls the deck apart close to the house by hand and machine, so the siding and the door threshold are not dragged along with it. The posts and their footings come out of the ground, the debris goes on the truck, and the area is graded so a patio, a new deck or grass can follow.
Above-ground pools and old sheds
Above-ground pools are common in backyards like these, and they do not last forever. Once the water is out, the walls, liner and frame are cut down and hauled. The sand or stone bed underneath is spread out or removed, and the circle is graded so it does not hold water. The swimming pool removal guide covers what to expect.
Sheds come down the same way, roof first, then walls. If the floor is concrete, it can be broken out too. For a bigger slab or a patio, concrete removal in O'Fallon has the detail.
Scott, moving day and a deadline
Scott Air Force Base is about five miles from the city, and many O'Fallon residents work there in uniform or in civil service. A move can come with orders and a short window, and a failing deck or a dead pool is often the last thing standing between a house and the listing.
When the date matters, say so on the first call. You will get a straight answer on what the schedule looks like before you count on it, and the price is set before work starts. Sending photos of the job and the access ahead of the visit lets the job be planned around the date you need.
O'Fallon's permit desk and JULIE
The City of O'Fallon's Building and Inspections Division handles permits, and the city publishes an FAQ on when a demolition permit is needed. It has a separate one for sheds and accessory buildings, which is worth reading if a new shed is going where the old one stood.
Before any digging, JULIE is notified through 811 so the utilities can mark their lines. Gas and power to a shed or a pool pump are disconnected first. Low-voltage wiring to deck lights or a pump that a past owner buried is not marked by anyone, so point it out.
After the tear-down
A cleared spot is a chance to fix what was wrong around it. If the deck was hiding a wet corner of the yard, yard drainage in O'Fallon can regrade it. If brush has crept in along the back fence, land clearing in O'Fallon takes it back.
Jon quotes it all himself, with hauling included, and the quote is free. The service as a whole is on the demolition and debris removal page, and the rest of 3D's work in town is on the O'Fallon excavating page. A text with photos is the quickest way to start.

Southwest of O'Fallon, Belleville is a much older city, and demolition in Belleville is more often a frame garage or a workshop that has stood for generations. Up in Madison County, demolition in Glen Carbon is a closer match to O'Fallon: decks, sheds and garages on subdivision lots. The surrounding areas page lists every town 3D covers. Whichever side of the county line the job is on, it is priced the same way.

Questions people ask
Not seeing yours? Call (217) 710-0606 and ask Jon, or read the guides.
Do I need a permit to remove a deck or shed in O'Fallon?
The City of O'Fallon publishes an FAQ on when a demolition permit is needed, and its Building and Inspections Division can tell you whether your job qualifies. Ask before a date is set, and check the accessory building rules if a new shed will replace the old one.
Can you remove an above-ground pool?
Yes. Once the water is out, the walls, liner and frame are taken down and hauled away. The sand or stone base is dealt with and the circle is graded so it drains, ready for seed or a new patio.
We are moving on orders. Can the work be done before we list?
Tell Jon the date when you call. He will be straight about when the job can be done, and you will have a fixed price first. Photos sent ahead of the visit help him plan the day.
How do I get a price?
Call or text (217) 710-0606 with the address and photos of what is coming down, or email 3dexcavatinginc@gmail.com. Jon looks at the job in person and gives one free figure with the hauling and grading in it.
