In Vandalia

What we get called out for

Driveways that have gone soft, yards that hold water, pads for a new shop or shed, brush and fence lines that have got away from somebody, trenching for a service run, and hauling rock or dirt in and spoil out.

About 35 minutes from the yard in Hillsboro. That matters more than it sounds — a contractor who is two hours away prices the drive into every job, and turns down the small ones.

Land Clearing in Vandalia, IL

What gets cleared

Fence lines that have not been touched in years. Timbered edges creeping into pasture. Lots that need to be buildable. The debris is dealt with, not pushed into a corner of your ground.

What happens to the brush

Brush and small timber come down and the root balls come out. The material is burned on site where that is allowed and sensible, or loaded and hauled off. Which one it is gets agreed before the work starts, because it changes the price.

Getting a price

Send a photo of the ground and a note on access. Flag any trees you want kept and point out septic tanks, wells or buried lines. Jon quotes every job himself and the quote is free. More on the land clearing and brush removal page.

Do you haul material as well as move it?

Yes — rock, mulch, sand and dirt delivered, and spoil, concrete and brush hauled off.

What do you do with the spoil?

Graded back on site or hauled away, whichever was agreed at quote stage. It gets decided before the work starts, not after.

How soon can you start?

It depends on the season and what is already booked. Call and ask — you will get a straight answer rather than a maybe.

How far will you travel?

Further than most people expect. Montgomery County is home, and we are in Springfield, Decatur, Effingham, Vandalia, Greenville, Carlinville and out into the Metro East as a matter of course. If your job sits past that, ring and ask — Jon would rather hear about it and tell you himself than have you rule it out.

How it goes

Four steps, no surprises

Tell us the job

Call, text or send the form. A photograph of the ground and the way in tells us more than a description does — width of the gate, where the truck can sit, what is in the way.

Jon prices it himself

Jon quotes every job on this site. You are not talking to a call centre and you are not getting a number from someone who has not looked at the ground.

The machines turn up

Excavator, dozer, skid steer or the truck — whatever the job actually needs, with an operator who has run it before.

It gets left clean

Spoil hauled off or graded back, whichever was agreed. The job is not done while there is a pile sat in your yard.
